Sockapalooza Progress

Danielle's comment last week made me realize that I never told you about my Sockapalooza 4 progress!

As I aspired to in my last post, I finished the first Cable and Rib sock that night... see:

...and a close-up of the cable. Even in real life it doesn't pop much more than in this picture:

Then I sat for a while with a beautiful hank of yarn, and a set of empty needles... and sat... and sat, until finally I gave the hank to Alison, and she returned it to me all wound up on Sunday!

So... why haven't I cast on yet? I now have two single socks, waiting for mates, and waiting for those US 2 29" needles. These are definitely not my preferred sock needles, but all of the sudden there are three potential socks to be knit on them... and mine is VERY kinky. Enter a little North Shore (of Boston) yarn crawl, (more details with pictures are on Alison's blog), and I have a new set of 29" US 2s! ...oh, and some yarn!

Needles and purple yarn from Yarn Over Marblehead which is having a 20% off of the entire store sale for their 4th anniversary, and green Gems Opal from Cranberry Quilters in Hamilton. I wish we'd had more time at that store, we'll definitely go again!

So, have I cast on yet? Nope... maybe tomorrow!
