Green Socks

Dani's post today made me realize that my newest finished socks are just perfect for today's holiday!

Things I like about these socks:

• The yarn : Sunshine Yarns "Soft" sock yarn in "Jaded"... so soft!
• The color
• The pattern : The Firestarter(Ravelry link... I couldn't find it elsewhere!) It was so easy to follow!
• The toe-up gusset : It fits SO WELL, and was fun to do.

Things I don't like:

• I don't like the ribbing on the leg, I wish I'd kept the stockinette in between the cables
• The length: I did 7 cable repeats rather than the 5 that the pattern calls for on the leg, and they are still mighty short socks.

I really loved this pattern, and I'd love to knit more from this designer, but ~$16 is mighty steep for a sock knitting pattern... I'll have to admire from afar... or wait for more free ones!
